Questions & Answers

The questions every homeowner asks. Answered honestly.

We've been at this for three decades. We've heard most of the questions. Here are the ones that come up most often, with the answers we'd give across the table.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Most of our kitchen remodels run 8 to 14 weeks of active construction. The design phase before that (at the showroom) usually takes 4 to 8 weeks. Whole-home renovations run longer. We give you a schedule before you sign, and we hit it.

Do I have to move out during construction?

For single-room remodels, almost never. For kitchen remodels, most clients stay in the home with a temporary kitchen we help set up. For whole-home renovations, it varies. If you do plan to be away during construction, we coordinate the heaviest demo work to that window. We have a case study of a family who returned from a six-week vacation to a nearly-finished home.

What does a typical project cost?

Our projects range widely because the scopes range widely. Bathroom remodels typically start around $40,000. Kitchens around $75,000. Whole-home renovations are six figures and often more, depending on the size of the home and the level of finish. We give you a firm price before construction starts, not a range that grows.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Delray Beach and primarily work across Palm Beach County, including Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Highland Beach, Gulf Stream, Ocean Ridge, Manalapan, Lake Worth Beach, Wellington, and Lantana. If your project is just outside that, ask. We make exceptions for the right job.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Florida Certified General Contractor, license CGC #049679. We carry general liability and workers' comp on every project. Bill is also LEED AP and EPA Lead-Safe certified.

How does the showroom work?

The studio is our Delray Beach showroom where we walk you through every finish, fixture, cabinet, and material in your project. Usually one to three appointments. Our designer is in the room with you, and so is the general contractor. By the end you have a finish schedule, a price, and a timeline.

Do you work with my architect or designer?

Yes, often. We're happy to act as the GC on projects designed by an outside architect or interior designer. The level of supervision is the same as on our own projects.

Will Bill be on my project, or will I work with a project manager?

Bill is on every project, every week. He is the general contractor. You won't be handed off to someone you've never met. Our trades have been with us for years, and they know they work with Bill.
